Our Story: The Problem with Digital Clutter

AnTextShare was born out of a universal, everyday frustration. We realized how often professionals, developers, and students needed to send a quick text snippet, an API key, a long URL, or a small file from one device to another—say, from a smartphone to a workstation, or to a colleague sitting across the library.

The existing solutions were fundamentally broken and counterproductive. Emailing yourself creates unnecessary inbox clutter. Logging into cloud drives takes too long and leaves permanent files taking up storage space. Using messaging apps often requires having the other person's contact info or installing dedicated software. We realized the internet needed a "shortcut"—a way to push temporary data into the ether and pull it down instantly somewhere else, without accounts, without logging in, and with absolutely zero friction.

Deep Dive: The Technology Behind the Tool

AnTextShare is engineered using modern, robust web technologies to ensure a seamless and secure experience across all modern browsers and devices. We don't cut corners when it comes to infrastructure.

For our standard text and file sharing, we leverage Google Firebase for our secure, ephemeral database storage. When you generate a secure 4-character code, your payload is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS. To enforce our strict privacy standards, we utilize automated Time-To-Live (TTL) indexing in our database, ensuring all standard texts and files are automatically, permanently purged after 24 hours. No backups of this temporary data are kept.

For scenarios requiring absolute confidentiality, we engineered the Live Code feature. This tool utilizes WebRTC (via PeerJS), allowing browsers to connect directly to each other. When you type in a live session, the keystrokes are transmitted directly to your partner's computer through an end-to-end encrypted tunnel. Because this data entirely bypasses central servers, it provides unparalleled security for developers sharing sensitive infrastructural code, passwords, or participating in real-time technical interviews.
